This specimen was lot 51421 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $1,260. The catalog description[1] noted,
"CHINA. 200 Yuan, 2005. Famous Classical Literature, Journey to the West. GEM PROOF. 1/2 Ounce Gold. Colorized obverse, depicting the adventures of the Monkey King Biqiu. The obverse displaying frosted devices and fields while the reverse exhibits hard mirrored fields with frosted devices. Includes album of issue and certificate of authenticity # 1040."
Recorded mintage: 11,800.
Specification: 15.55 g, 0.999 fine gold, 27 mm diameter, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
