Sincona sale 102, lot 5191

This specimen was lot 5191 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 140 CHF (about US$211 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 1 Sol 1564, Genf. Mzz. G. Gutes sehr schön. (Switzerland, city and canton of Geneva, one sol of 1564, Geneva mint. Good Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1536-40, 1550-76, 1580-97, and many dates have mintmaster's initials. One thaler was 96 sols.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.64 g, billon, 21 mm diameter, this specimen 1.52 g.
