This specimen was lot 2275 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$298 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALY | Genova, Dogi Biennali, 1528-1797 Scudo stretto 1713. Sehr schön. Kleiner Randfehler. (republic of Genoa, biennial doges, 1528-1797, scudo of 1713. Very fine, Minor edge nick.)"
This type was struck 1637-56, 1661-1705, 1712-21 and 1725. The SCWC incorrectly states the weight as 19 g, which caused us considerable confusion for some time. It is not common. Two, three, four and six scudi exist.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
Specification: 38 g, silver, this specimen 38.44 g.
