The first specimen was lot 34644 in Heritage sale 3082 (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $810. The catalog description[1] noted, "Poland: Danzig. Sigismund III Ort (1/4 Taler) 1618-SB MS63 NGC. Fully struck portrait and devices, a trace of golden toning accenting the otherwise untoned surface." The second specimen was lot 72571 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[2] noted, "POLAND. Danzig. 1/4 Taler (Ort), 1618 SB. Sigismund III. NGC MS-62. A nicely preserved example of the type seldom encountered in this high state of preservation. Boasting a bold strike and lightly toned lustrous surfaces with a good eye appeal." This type was struck 1617-21 with various mintmasters and is not rare. An ort = ¼ thaler = ten groszy.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
