Sincona sale 20, lot 3843

This specimen was lot 3843 in Sincona sale 20 (Zurich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 12,500 (about US$15,665 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "[Zurich.] Dukat o. J. (1580). Die Stadtpatrone Felix und Regula stehen nebeneinander von vorne mit ihren Köpfe in den Händen. Rv. Karl der Grosse mit Krone und Reichsapfel thront von vorne. Sehr selten. Gutes vorzüglich. (Obverse: SS. Felix and Regula stand together, holding their heads in their hands. Reverse: Charlemagne enthroned with crown and orb; very rare, good extremely fine.)"
