Alvise Pisani, 1735-1741. 1/4 Zecchino o. J., Venezia. ''Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Kleiner Randfehler'' (republic of [[Italy, Venice|Venice]], Alvise Pisani, 1735-41, undated quarter zecchino, Venice mint. Very rare, Very fine-extremely fine, Minor edge flaw)." The republic of Venice invented the ducat in the late 1200's and issued them more or less continuously until the final collapse in 1797. This is a common type of a scarce denomination. This doge also minted one half, one, ten, sixteen, thirty and forty zecchini in gold.
