Strong luster for the assigned grade (should be higher), bold full strike including rims (just some die-rust on date side) faint hairlines on Liberty side, traces of toning." Beautifully toned and very lustrous with vibrant blue and red hues across brilliant, almost prooflike fields, central details a little weak as is typical for this time period with some planchet adjustment lines seen, a few scattered hairlines to note but these don't take away much from the great eye-appeal of this piece. Pedigreed to the H.P. Flatt Collection (stated on label) and to the John O'Brien Collection (stated on label), with his tag." This specimen is one of a series struck 1825-1840 at the Lima mint.
