Sincona sale 91, lot 3278

This specimen was lot 3278 in Sincona sale 91 (Zurich, May 2024), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$1,057 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Genf/Genève, Stadt und Kanton, 3 Quarts 1715, Genf. Silberabschlag. Selten. Gutes vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Geneva, three quarts of 1715, Geneva mint, struck in silver. Rare, Good extremely fine.)"

This type was struck in billon in 1715 and is fairly common. Silver strikes exist, made for presentation.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
