This specimen was lot 74681 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Empire. 2 Mark, 1906-F. Stuttgart Mint. PCGS MS-65. Splashes of amber tone singe the outer margins of this glowing Gem." This type was struck for the king of Wurttemberg in 1892-93, 1896-1908 and 1912-14 along with silver three and five mark and gold ten and twenty mark pieces. The two mark is common. Proofs exist.

Recorded mintage: 1,504,620, the highest mintage date.

Specification: 11.11 g, .900 fine silver, reeded edge, 28 mm diameter.
