This specimen was lot 1149 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 27 (Winter Park, FL, May 2020), where it sold for $595. The catalog description[1] noted, "Honduras, bronze 1 centavo, 1880, NGC VF 30 Brown, ex-Whittier. Bold but crude strike, especially the rims and penultimate digit of the date (a large 8 to cover the fact that it was recut from an 1878 die), the details enhanced by contrasting toning, second highest grade in NGC census. NGC #4770572-006. Pedigreed to the Whittier collection." This type was struck 1878-80.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3 g, bronze, 19.5 mm diameter.
