Stephen Album sale 43, lot 1375

This specimen was lot 1375 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $510. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS: Beatrix, 1980-2013, AV 2 ducat, 2009, one of first 200 struck, NGC graded PF70 Ultra Cameo." This type was struck 1988-92, 1996, 1999-2012 as a revival of a coin once essential to trade. Now, all are sold to investors and collectors and they do not circulate. Similar single ducats exist.

Recorded mintage: 2,000.

Specification: 6.98 g, 0.983 fine gold, 26 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-211.
