This specimen was lot 4826 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,225 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. DIE GEISTLICHKEIT IN DEN HABSBURGISCHEN ERBLANDEN, Johann Jakob Khuen von Belasi, 1560-1586. Guldentaler (60 Kreuzer) 1575, mit Titel Maximilians II. Min. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, archbishopric of Salzburg, John Jacob of Belasi, 1560-86, gulden thaler of 1575, in the name of Maximilain II. Minor rim defects, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
In the mid-sixteenth century, the thaler was 72 kreuzer and the gulden was 60 kreuzer or five-sixths of a thaler. In the seventeenth century, the thaler was raised to ninety kreuzer (without increasing the weight) but the gulden remained sixty kreuzer or two-thirds of a thaler.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
