This specimen was struck at the Orléans mint in 1787 during the reign of Louis XVI of France. Droulers[1] prices this date about 50% higher than the common date (1784-I or 1785-A).

Recorded mintage: 26,000[1], 375,000[2].

Specification: 2.95 g, .917 fine silver, .087 troy oz ASW, reeded edge, 21-22 mm diameter.
