This specimen was lot 29332 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian IV Speciedaler 1624 XF40 NGC. Broad and attractive one-year type with all-over steel gray patination and layers of iridescence shining through beneath the devices. Several areas of weakness are noted; however, the central devices on both the obverse and reverse retain an appreciable amount of detail." This type is listed for 1624 only. The regular issue, with a slightly different reverse (Dav-3524), was issued 1624-34.
