This specimen was lot 1699 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $111.63. The catalog description[1] noted, "ZAMBIA: Republic, 2 shillings, 1966, only 2 examples known, PCGS graded Specimen-66, ex King's Norton Mint Collection." This type was issued 1966 only. Altho blessed with ample mineral resources, especially copper, the country remains mired in poverty. Kenneth Kaunda, shown on the obverse, was president of Zambia 1964-91.
