This specimen was lot 1313 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €160 (about US$233 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, OVERIJSSEL, Provincie, AR leeuwendaalder, 1611, Droit: Ridder rechtsom kijkend met voor zich wapen met klimmende leeuw. Revers: Klimmende leeuw l. Zeldzaam. Gereinigd. goede Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Overijssel, silver lion dollar of 1611. Obverse: knight supports the provincial arms; reverse: lion rampant to left. Rare, cleaned, good very fine.)"
Lion daalders were struck in most of the provinces that today make up the Netherlands. This type is recorded in the SCWC for Overyssel for 1606-1666.
