This specimen was lot 3733 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony-Albertine. Taler, 1560. August (1553-86). NGC EF-45. Dark toned. From the Rockaway Collection." Saxony, one of the larger divisions of Germany and blessed with numerous silver mines, issued large numbers of thalers. This Davenport type was struck 1556-67 at Dresden and is common.
