This specimen was lot 71219 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $30. The catalog description[1] noted, "CEYLON. Cent, 1905. Edward VII. PCGS MS-63 Brown Gold Shield. Hints of original mint red amongst the devices." Ceylon attained her independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka. This type was struck 1904-10 and is common.
Recorded mintage: 1,509,000 plus proofs.
