This type, struck 1875-91 in large quantities, is available in all grades. The issues of 1875-78 were large, followed by low mintage years of 1879-81, then large issues resumed in 1882 and continued into the Barber years. This is a common date.

Recorded mintage: 7,675,712.

Specification: 2.50 g, .900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by Robert Hughes and modified by James Longacre.
