Steve Album sale 38, lot 3020
Iran SA38-3020r.jpg

This specimen was lot 3020 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $71.40. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Mohammad Reza Shah, 1941-1979, AE 50 dinars, SH1322, WWII issue, a lovely example! NGC graded MS64 RB." In 1943, as a result of wartime metal shortages, the aluminum bronze fifty dinars (KM 1142, struck SH 1315-1332) was dropped in favor of this bronze composition.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: bronze.

Catalog reference: KM-1142a.
