This specimen was lot 3241 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "LUXEMBOURG: Charlotte, 1919-1964, AR 5 francs, 1929, struck at the Stuttgart Mint, a superb lustrous example! PCGS graded MS65, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." This type was struck in 1929 along with a silver five francs (KM 38). Luxembourg, occupied and devastated by German occupation during World War One, was enjoying a brief respite of peace before the Nazis would repeat the experience again during World War Two. Gold patterns exist of this type.
Recorded mintage: 2,000,000.
Specification: 8 g, 0.625 fine silver, 27.8 mm diameter.
