This specimen was lot 42519 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $6,900. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. Danzig. Ducat, 1656-GR. Danzig Mint. John II Casimir. NGC AU Details--Bent. A difficult and always popular type, though this example does display some minor wear across the high points as well as a slight bend to the flan, it nevertheless retains an enchanting appearance, with some darker hues around the devices that really allow for some great contrast." This type was struck 1649-57. It appears fairly regularly in auctions but is always expensive.
