This specimen was part of lot 22105 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), which sold for $253. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Quartet of Uncirculated Commemorative Florins: (2) 1927 Parliament; 1951 Jubilee; and 1954 Royal Visit, all nice UNC." Australia maintained the sterling silver standard until 1945, years after Great Britain had debased her coins to 0.500 fine. This issue, honoring the opening of the new Parliament in Canberra, was extensively saved and is today much more available than the regular issue (KM 27).

Recorded mintage: 2,000,000 plus 400 proofs plus 3,420,000 of the regular issue (KM-27).

Specification: 11.31 g, 0.925 fine silver, .336 troy oz ASW, designed by George Kruger-Gray.
