Sincona sale 91, lot 3614

This specimen was lot 3614 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$264 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Sechser 1584, Zürich. Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 6, Zürich, Mai 2012, Los 3400. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, Very rare in this condition, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

We don't know the face value of this coin but we guess from the weight that it was half a schilling. Some undated sechsers (KM B12) are listed without photos in the SCWC; we don't know if they are the same as this.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.84 g, billon, 18 mm diameter, this specimen 0.69 g.
