This specimen was lot 1055 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$3,835 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, Henry VII. 1485-1509. 1/2 Angel n. d. (1505-1509), Tower Mint. Class V. Mintmark pheon. NGC AU55. Scratch on obverse." The half angel was one-sixth of a pound or three shillings four pence. The denomination was introduced in the reign of Edward IV to replace the gold noble and was struck until the reign of Charles I. Many varieties and mintmarks exist for Henry VII.
