This specimen was lot 75569 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWEDEN. Ore, 1919. Gustav V. NGC MS-63. World War I issue struck in iron. The surfaces of this coin are attractively glossy with a steely hue that is immediately engaging to the viewer. Well struck with few distracting marks. A most pleasing coin that demonstrates the unexpected attractiveness of iron as a coining metal." This type is listed for 1917-19 and iron was used as a substitute for bronze during World War One. It is common in worn condition but scarce nice.
Recorded mintage: 7,169,500 plus a few struck in bronze.
Specification: 1.75 g, iron, 16 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM-789.
