This specimen was lot 4862 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$335 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND Grisons, Halbbatzen 1820, Zürich. Mzz. "B" links des Datums. Prachtvolle Erhaltung. FDC (Half batzen of 1820, Zürich mint, mintmark "B" to the left of the date. Cabinet piece. Brilliant uncirculated)." This type was also struck in 1807, a much scarcer date. A batzen was four kreuzer and forty batzen made a thaler. Graubunden's coinage is probably the least prolific of the post-Napoleonic period and ceased with a shooting thaler of 1842 (KM 17).
