This type was struck in Chile 1899, 1901, 1904-07 and many overdates exist. The decline in silver content did not stop with this type; in 1908 it was reduced to 1 g, 0.400 fine and finally to copper-nickel in 1920. All dates are common.

Recorded mintage: 2,527,000 including 1904/1, 1904/891/9 and 1904/894 overdates.

Specification: 1 g, 0.500 fine silver, 14 mm diameter.
