The specimen shown is from a type struck for Australia 1966-84. This type was struck in large numbers and no dates are rare altho the 1971 is scarce. The succeeding type (KM 82) used the Maklouf bust of the queen 1985-98. This denomination superseded the old florin.

Recorded mintage: 27,820,000 plus 61,000 proofs.

Specification: 11.30 g, copper-nickel, 28.65 mm diameter.
