Künker sale 406, lot 3650

This specimen was lot 3650 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €600 (about US$787 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ, ZÜRICH, Stadt. 1/4 Dukat 1709. GOLD. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, quarter ducat of 1709. Scarce in this quality, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1708-09, 1712-16. Similar quarter ducats were struck for the remainder of the century.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 0.87 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 0.89 g.

Catalog reference: KM 129, D./T. 415 b; Fr-488 (incorrectly described).
