Germany 1892-F mark

Heritage sale 3064, lot 32966

This specimen was lot 32966 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $204. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Wilhelm II Mark 1892-F MS65 NGC, Stuttgart mint. Scarcer date/mintmark combination." This silver mark with the large eagle reverse was struck at various mints 1891-1916. The cataclysm of World War One destroyed the Wilhelmine regime and the value of the mark, which ceased to be silver.

Recorded mintage: 302,000, a better date.

Specification: 5.55 g, 0.900 fine silver, .160 troy oz ASW.
