This specimen was lot 5065 in Sincona sale 80 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$959 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Bern | Stadt und Kanton, Dukat 1789, Bern. Rare. Very fine. Damaged." This rare type was struck 1789 only. The ducat of 1788 is similar but the shield is squared off and the cartouche on the reverse is more elaborate.
