This specimen was lot 31048 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $470. The catalog description[1] noted, "Gustaf V Proof 50 Ore 1916-W, PR67 NGC. Reflective fields with aged toning on both sides, a most attractive piece. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman / B.G. Johnson." This type is listed for 1911-19 and 1927-39. The early dates, including this one, are scarce compared to the later dates.

Recorded mintage: 536,718.

Specification: 5 g, 0.600 fine silver, 22 mm diameter.
