The first specimen was lot 50 in Sincona sale 65 (Zürich, October 2020), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,843 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Poltina 1739, St. Petersburg Mint. Rare. 2 roubles according to Petrov. 3 roubles according to Ilyin. Extraordinary condition. Extremely fine. (Полтина 1739, СПб МД. 12,72 г. Дьяков 4. Биткин 246 (R). Редкая. 2 рубля по Петрову. 3 рубля по Ильину. Исключительная сохранность. Состояние отличное.)"
The second specimen was lot 1168 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[2] noted,
"RUSSLAND. Anna Iwanovna, 1730-1740. Poltina 1739, St. Petersburg. Diakov 7. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. (empire of Russia, Anna, 1730-40, poltina of 1739, St. Petersburg mint. Rare, Good very fine.)"
This type was struck 1737-40 at the Red Mint in Moscow (KM 199.1, without mintmark) and St. Petersburg (shown here). Both are scarce.
