This specimen was lot 23703 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $1,762.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "George V Piastre 1931, XF45 BN NGC, attractive brown surfaces with bold crown band details, few tiny contact marks in the obverse fields. Very scarce low mintage date." Four dates are mentioned for this type, spanning 1922-31.
Recorded mintage: 45,000 plus a few proofs.
