This specimen was lot 374 in Sincona sale 31 (Zurich, October 2016), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$143 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "REPUBLIC OF TUNISIA, 10 dinars 2003ce/1424ah AR unc ex Pf." This type, struck with French and Arabic legends (shown here), honored the sixteenth anniversary of the revolution which overthrew the senile Habib Bourgiba in 1987 and the International Solidarity Fund. It was accompanied by a gold fifty dinars (KM 450) and a gold hundred dinars (KM 352). It is unlikely to have circulated beyond the president's circle of cronies and supporters. Zine Ben Ali, Bourgiba's successor, was himself overthrown in 2011.
