Radhanpur in 1879

This specimen was lot 2603 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "RADHANPUR: Zorawar Khan, 1825-1874, AR rupee, Radhanpur, 1869//AH1286, an excellent strike with minimal weakness, XF." Radhanpur was a princely state in the west of India near Baroda and Jhalawar. It is now part of Gujarat state. Its rulers were Muslims, hence the AH dating on the coins. This type was struck AH 1286-1289.

Specification: 10-7-11.6 g, silver, this specimen 11.59 g.
