Sincona Auction 103, lot 398

This specimen was lot 398 in Sincona Auction 103 (Zürich, May 2026), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$419 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen-Weimar, Herzogtum, Friedrich Wilhelm und Johann, 1573-1603. Taler 1592, Saalfeld. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Weimar, Frederick William and John, 1573-1603, thaler of 1592, Saalfeld mint. Very Fine.)"

This type of 1587-94 is one of the most common thalers of the sixteenth century.
