This specimen was lot 31127 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic 50 Centavos 1910 VF30 NGC. An incredibly scarce type, with this year being the last date and the key to the series, showing evenly patinated gunmetal gray surfaces blended with hints of mauve throughout. Wear and handling align with the designation, making this offering all the more collectible." Ordinary circulating coinage ceased with the peso of 1914 altho a few issues are known from the 1920's. The currency was reformed in 1931 to introduce the lempira, equal to the United States half dollar.
Recorded mintage: 602.
Specification: 12.5 g, 0.900 fine silver.
