This specimen was lot 509 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,421 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Quedlinburg, ABTEI Dorothea Sophia von Sachsen-Altenburg, 1618-1645. Reichstaler 1624, Quedlinburg, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Prachtvolle Patina, etwas Belag, sehr schön +. (abbey of Quedlinburg, Dorothy Sophia of Saxe-Altenburg, 1618-45, thaler of 1624, Quedlinburg mint, in the name of Ferdinand II. Magnificent patina, very fine or better.)"
Like all thalers from this locale, this type of 1624 and 1629 is expensive. Quedlinburg thalers range from rare to unobtainable.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver.
Catalog reference: Dav-5722; Mehl 488 b, KM 39.
