This specimen was lot 2108 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €5,500 (about US$3,062 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich August I. 1694-1733 (August der Starke). Dukat 1711, Dresden, auf das Vikariat. GOLD. Min. gewellt, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I (Augustus the Strong), ducat of 1711, Dresden mint, on his vicariat. Slightly wavy, very fine to extremely fine.)"
The occasion also caused the issue of a quarter thaler, half thaler, single thaler (Dav-2655) and numerous larger issues.
