This specimen was lot 5065 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$241 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND Zug, Dicken 1615, Zug. Vorzüglich (Extremely fine)." A dicken was twenty-four kreuzer or two-fifths gulden. This type is noted in the SCWC for 1609-22 and is listed as fairly common. The figure on the obverse is St Oswald, a British king who converted the Northumbrians.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 9.1 g, silver, 30 mm diameter, this specimen 8.47 g.
Catalog reference: KM 20, D.T. 1242g, HMZ 2-1092h.
