This specimen was lot 4436 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Solothurn, Stadt und Kanton, Vierer 1557, Solothurn. Selten. Schön. Kleine Randfehler. Exemplar der Slg. Kunzmann, Auktion SINCONA 44, Zürich, Oktober 2015, Los 5727. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, vierer of 1557, Solothurn mint. Rare, Fine, Minor edge flaws.)"
This type s listed for 1549-57 and 1564-66. A vierer was half a kruezer and usually the smallest denomination. This one appears to be made of very low grade billon. Numista states that one guldiner was 17 batzen; however, we don't know if the Solothurn guldiner was equal to the thaler or five-sixths.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specifications: 0.6 g, billon, 17 mm diameter, this specimen 0.61 g.
