This specimen was lot 2267 in Goldberg sale 103 (Los Angeles, February 2018), where it sold for $2,056.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alderney. 2 Pounds, 1992. For the 40th Anniversary- Reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Only 150 pieces struck. Rare. NGC graded Proof 68 Ultra Cameo." Alderney was not granted the right to coin until 1989, and has used it only to issue NCLT's. This type was issued in copper-nickel, silver and gold. Alderney is one of the Channel islands.
