The Indian state of Mysore, under her rulers Haider Ali (1761-82) and Tipu Sultan (1782-99), was a serious thorn in the side of the British Raj. The Mauludi Era (AM) was a calendar invented and used only by Tipu Sultan and it lapsed after his death in battle in 1799. This type was struck AM1197-1201, 1215-1223.
