This specimen was lot 75635 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Farthing (1/4 Penny), 1750. London Mint. PCGS MS-62 Brown. From the Richard August Collection." This type is listed for 1746, 1749-50 and 1754 and is fairly common in worn condition. The mint did not produce near enough small change for the industrial boom of the eighteenth century, leading to a proliferation of private tokens. The situation would not be rectified until the reform of 1817.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.93 g, copper, 23 mm diameter, plain edge.
Catalog reference: S-3722; KM-581.2.
