This specimen was lot 26935 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Louis XV Ecu 1756-D, Choice AU Details - Cleaned. Lyon Mint. A well-made example with no apparent pre-strike flaws and strong device definition." This specimen is an écu au bandeau of Louis XV of France struck in 1756 at the Lyon mint.

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.

Specification: 29.49 g, 0.917 fine silver, 39-41 mm diameter, edge lettered DOMINE SALVUM FAC REGEM.

Catalog reference: Dav-1331, Dr/4 № 820, Dr/2 № 584; Gad-322; KM 512.6.
