Sincona sale 94, lot 3232

This specimen was lot 3232 in Sincona sale 94 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$416 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Waadt/Vaud, Kanton, 20 Batzen 1811, Lausanne. Fast FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Vaud, twenty batzen of 811, Lausanne mint. About Uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1810-11 and equaled half a thaler. Vaud did not begin issuing coins until after the Helvetic republic, being previously a subject territory of the canton of Geneva.

Recorded mintage: 6,590 for both dates.

Specification: 14.7 g, silver, 34 mm diameter, this specimen 14.41 g.
