This specimen was lot 1675 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$485 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY | House of Savoy / Sardinia, Vittorio Emanuele II. 1849-1861. 20 Lire 1854, Genova. PCGS MS61." This type was struck at the Turin mint 1850-61 during the reign of Vittorio Emanuele II of Italy, while he was merely King of Sardinia. It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs. It is, however, reasonably common.
