"IRAN, Zand Dynasty, Karim Khan, 1166-1193 AH (1753-1779). 1/4 Mohur Ashrafi 1178 AH (1764), Kerman Mint. Sehr selten, Gereinigt; Very rare. NGC AU Details. Cleaned. Purchased from Sotheby's, London, in 1992."
Karim Khan was the founder and the only competent ruler of the Zands. This quarter mohur was struck at Isfahan, Kashan, Khoy, Mazandaran, Qazvin, Rasht, Shiraz, Tehran and Yazd. Kirman is an unlisted mint for this type.
